About JP Crafts
JP Crafts are a Japanese trading company to seek Japanese authentic products and to distribute the crafts to the world. We mainly export and deliver "Traditional Craft" goods, which designated by Japanese government as a real Japanese craft. There are a lot of traditional goods in Japan, and these things are not yet well-known in the World. Our mission is to excavate such authentic and traditional goods in Japan and spread them to the world.
What is "Traditional Craft"?
Most of our products is "Traditional Craft", which is one of the authorized Japanese classifications, designated by the Minister of the “Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry” (METI) with specific law, for Japanese crafts.
The Minister of METI required a Japanese craft the following 5 requirements to be designated as Traditional Craft.
1. The items are mainly used as daily necessities.
2. The items are manufactured by hand-manufacturing on major process.
3. The items are manufactured with traditional technique.
4. The items are mainly made of traditional materials.
5. The items are manufactured by people who are not minors in specific areas and are dedicated to the manufacturing.
